Sash Windows
Vertical sliding sash windows and Yorkshire sliding sash windows (horizontal sliding). These windows are very common in houses and buildings dating from the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian era. Often companies will recommend replacement however, our speciality is repairing and restoring the original windows where possible.
We also offer easing, re-cording and re-weighting for sash windows if they don’t open or stay open as they should.
Casement Windows
Timber casement windows are usually hinged on the side or top and open outwards. These windows started to emerge in the Victorian era. Later designs often featuring storm proofing, a second rebate and drip moulds, which help prevent the ingress of water.
Both newer and older timber casement windows can often be repaired without the need for replacement.
As well as being able to repair both types of timber windows, we can also offer draught proofing options to suit the specific design of the window and help improve the thermal efficiency of your property.
We can replace any broken panes of glass with modern clear float glass or historical distorted glass matching the original.
Upgrading the glass to double glazing or secondary glazing can also be an option if;
The design of the window will allow it.
You are able to obtain the necessary permissions for listed properties or those in conservation areas.
We are also able to replace blown double glazed units and some locks in UPVC windows.
