About

Robert Millward-Taylor

I am a Carpenter/ Joiner with over 10 years experience in the industry.

City and guild qualified, SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certified and I hold a valid CSCS card making me compliant on almost all building sites in the UK. I am also experienced in working in my clients homes and understand the importance of leaving anywhere I work clean and tidy.

My training began when I joined the Army at 16, I was in the Royal Engineers and did a 6 month carpentry and joinery course where I learnt some of the necessary skills which I still use today. After I left the Army, I went on to do a civilian apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery and worked in and around Birmingham renovating domestic properties and restoring listed buildings. I thrived working in both domestic houses as well as larger building sites, primarily hanging doors, fitting and repairing kitchens, windows and staircases as well as learning many other valuable skills. This is also where I trained in Site Management and Safety acquiring my SMSTS qualification and started overseeing a number of projects at multiple sites.

I then moved up to Bridlington where I was employed by a high-end Architectural Joinery and Fine Woodcarving company based in York. There I worked as a Project Supervisor and continued to develop my skills in the craft as well as managing projects large and small.

Throughout my career I have personally worked on several notable properties including Castle Howard, Sewerby Hall, Beningbrough Hall, Temple Newsam and Aston Hall, repairing windows, doors, wall panelling and all manner of joinery work.

I have a passion for my trade and am dedicated to delivering a quality service tailored to fit your specific needs no matter how big or small your project may be.
